In an effort to raise awareness among the residents of Marine Parade Town, Marine Parade Town Council organised its Clean, Green and Hygiene Carnival on 12 November 2006.

This year, a total of 8,000 residents attended the carnival at Block 61 Chai Chee Road. Like previous years, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong graced the event with Members of Parliament of Marine Parade Town.

This is an event where residents of all constituencies come together for a fun-filled day and taking an important role in caring for the environment. A specially designed "All Hands Together" Message Board was constructed for residents to convey their pledge to achieve a cleaner and greener Marine Parade Town.

The Marine Parade Renewal Programme was launched on 18 February 2006 at the open space in front of Block 46 Marine Crescent Gardens, in conjunction with the Upgrading Completion Ceremony of Marine Crescent Gardens. The objective of the Renewal Programme is to ensure that residents have the Best Home to live, work and play in harmony.

Residents, young and old, and grassroots joined hands with our Advisers in the launch to signify that each one of us, no matter who we are, have the social responsibility to ensure that our home is kept beautiful, warm, friendly and safe for all.

Marine Parade Town Council held its Clean, Green & Hygiene Carnival 2005 on 13 November 2005 (Sunday) at the open field in front of Block 122 Geylang East Central.

About 6,000 residents turned up for this once-a-year celebration - to remind ourselves to love our living environment by keeping it clean, green and hygienic. Just like past years, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong (MP for Marine Parade GRC) graced the occassion as guest-of-honour with the company of the other Advisers of Marine Parade Town.

There were activities aplenty to keep the residents entertained as they went from booth to booth to play fun educational games, get their hair pleated, learn to make simple handicraft and learn about dengue prevention through fun and games.

This year, we also celebrated the birth of our very own 'Little Mister & Miss Earth 2005', who would become Marine Parade Town Council's "Little Clean & Green Ambassadors". This proud honour was succeeded by Reiko and Si Chuan, both 5 years old, from Serangoon Constituency. Congratulations to Reiko and Si Chuan!

An annual event organised by Marine Parade Town Council, the Clean, Green and Hygiene Carnival provides a platform to increase and enhance the awareness of the public in environmental care.

One of the highlights for the event includes exhibitions on the various aspects of environmental care - recycling, cleanliness, hygiene, conservation, etc. Other activities promoting environmental care such as quizzes, telematch, games as well as performances are also put up to drive home the fundamental message - the need to take ownership of our living environment.

Every year, about 5,000 residents from the seven divisions within Marine Parade Town will gather together to participate in this meaningful event. Members-of-Parliament of Marine Parade Town, grassroots leaders, representatives from the various government agencies as well as residents come together to do their bit for the environment.

Residents of the selected estates have a great cause to rejoice. With the help of the government, the selected estates were spruced up and upgraded. More amenities and public facilities have been also added to enhance the living environment.

The completion ceremony for the various EUP marked the smooth completion of these upgrading works where Members-of-Parliament for the selected estate celebrated the joyous occasion with residents in an enjoyable fanfare.

Several Interim Upgrading Programmes in which selected HDB blocks were selected for upgrading were undertaken by the Town Council over the past few years. Facilities such as amphitheatre, covered walkways, repainting and refurbishment of lift lobbies are some of the features undertaken under the Interim Upgrading Programme. With the total sum of upgrading fully borne by the government, the selected estates under the Interim Upgrading Programme are transformed into modern and attractive precincts complete with new recreational and communal facilities.
