CLEAN, GREEN & HYGIENE CARNIVAL 2005 |
Marine Parade Town Council held its Clean, Green & Hygiene Carnival 2005 on 13 November 2005 (Sunday) at the open field in front of Block 122 Geylang East Central.
About 6,000 residents turned up for this once-a-year celebration - to remind ourselves to love our living environment by keeping it clean, green and hygienic. Just like past years, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong (MP for Marine Parade GRC) graced the occassion as guest-of-honour with the company of the other Advisers of Marine Parade Town.
There were activities aplenty to keep the residents entertained as they went from booth to booth to play fun educational games, get their hair pleated, learn to make simple handicraft and learn about dengue prevention through fun and games.
This year, we also celebrated the birth of our very own 'Little Mister & Miss Earth 2005', who would become Marine Parade Town Council's "Little Clean & Green Ambassadors". This proud honour was succeeded by Reiko and Si Chuan, both 5 years old, from Serangoon Constituency. Congratulations to Reiko and Si Chuan! |

CLEAN, GREEN & HYGIENE CARNIVAL
- YEAR 2002 TO 2004
|
An annual event organised by Marine
Parade Town Council, the Clean, Green and Hygiene Carnival
provides a platform to increase and enhance the awareness
of the public in environmental care.
One of the highlights for the event includes exhibitions
on the various aspects of environmental care - recycling,
cleanliness, hygiene, conservation, etc. Other activities
promoting environmental care such as quizzes, telematch,
games as well as performances are also put up to drive
home the fundamental message - the need to take ownership
of our living environment.
Every year, about 5,000 residents from the seven divisions
within Marine Parade Town will gather together to participate
in this meaningful event. Members-of-Parliament of Marine
Parade Town, grassroots leaders, representatives from
the various government agencies as well as residents
come together to do their bit for the environment. |
